Frank Oliver, Director and Producer

Frank is creative, resourceful, and entrepreneurial. He helped manage the family business while still attending high school and learned about taking calculated risks and surrounding himself with talented people to help achieve a goal. He founded a non-profit dance organization in Texas and taught swing and lindy hop to inner city youth. Frank is socially conscientious and passionate about social and economic justice. When he relocated to WA, he joined the union construction trades and actively helped organize and educate others about the struggles and gains of the labor movement. Frank enjoys cinema and aspires to be much like Ken Loach, the filmmaker, and serve the people through his art. Frank hopes to achieve credibility as a director by successfully completing the "The War of the Grandmas" production and attracting well-versed writers to collaborate with him on docudramas and films of social commentary.

Sean Hastings, Assistant Director

Sean began making films in 1984. He has written and produced over a dozen short films. He co-founded Zallerquad Films and has written and directed short films that have won the Bronze Medal in the Houston Film Festival and the Jury Selection Award in the Washington DC Shorts Festival.

Mary Huckstep, Executive Producer and Writer

While earning her MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, Mary relied on real life experiences as she wrote "The War of the Grandmas," basing her two opposing grannies on a couple of the more eccentric people in her life. Small wonder they seem so real! In the past, Mary has earned her living as a mime artist, a domestic humor columnist, and a teacher. She was married to the love of her life, Hunk Huckstep, for 26 years and they had five children, all of whom continue to supply her with plenty of fodder for comedy. To date, Mary has written seven screenplays, three of which have been finalists or won national screenwrting contests.

Melanie Oliver, Production Manager

Melanie has a B.S. in mining engineering and currently manages a department of 28 employees at a production plant. She schedules for a 24-hour, constant production facility. Melanie brings strong business skills to manage the production crew of this project.
